Simplicity 2147

simplicity 2147

I have been picking up so many patterns at the dollar sales at JoAnns. I was very excited about making this pattern up. I love how the yoke and the sleeves are one piece. It ended up being very easy to put together and I gotta tell you that yoke fits me perfect. I love wearing this tunic!

I am still loving using a twin needle. I think it looks less homemade.

Pattern: Simplicity 2147, view B; only mod was to add a pocket.

Fabric: a linen/rayon blend from JoAnns

I really want to make some tops both long and short sleeves in this pattern and there is a great belt pattern in there too. Currently, I have a ton of girl clothes in the works. I am also planning what handmade gift to make each of them for Christmas. I love sewing for those girls.

absolutely love this color... I have made mini dress from this but would love to know where you got the pocket template. I think that is a great addition!!

Hi Karina, I used the pocket template from McCalls 5925, but its basically a two squares sewn together and sewn so there is no raw edges or wrong sides.

awesome! I just got a pattern two days ago with a pocket square that I think will be perfect now to find some good fabric for this

May I ask what size you are and what size you used? I am getting ready to make this but typically wear a size 4 and am thinking I need to make the size 10 based on the measurements (??). thanks so much!! Nicolle

Hi Nicolle, I made a size 8. I think I normally wear a size 2-4 pants and I like a looser top so medium size top. Hope that helps!
